* Foundation Celebrates Its 25th Anniversary
The Armenian Film Foundation is currently celebrating its 25th anniversary and
a plethora of
recent achievements. Established in 1979 as a non-profit educational and
cultural organization,
the foundation has dedicated its
efforts to the documentation and
preservation of Armenian heritage in multi-media formats. Its primary aim
continues to be to inspire pride in, and world-wide recognition of, the Armenian people and their contributions
to society, thereby fostering human dignity and enhancing understanding and goodwill between
present and future generations of Armenians and other cultures.
* Save the Date - For the 25th
Anniversary Gala Dinner - Details to be announced soon.
* Genocide Survivor Interview Preservation Project
The Foundation is currently negotiating with the University of Southern California
for the preservation, cataloguing and digitalization of its massive film
archives. Interviews of nearly 400 survivors, professionally filmed since 1967
by Dr. J. Michael Hagopian on four continents, would be included in that
collection. The archives will serve
as invaluable resources for students, scholars and descendants of Genocide
victims for generations to come.
